A long road
to the page.
A Southern-rooted life, told through two cities and a long-held wish to write.
In the biographical note on his book cover, Kenn describes himself as an African American of Southern descent. His story moves between St. Louis and Kansas City: he graduated from Soldan High School in 1968, moved to Kansas City in 1975, and attended Penn Valley Community College before returning to St. Louis in 1980.
His working life included drafting and consulting engineering. Later, he returned to school at ITT Technical College and earned an associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting (CADD). He also writes about spending several years at MCI after the engineering firm where he worked closed.
Writing had been on his mind for years. Kenn dates the beginning of this book to June 2014, turning a lifetime of collected sayings and observations into a book readers can browse and revisit.
